“SWASTHYA” - as a system, which uses the inherent principles of nature, to help maintain health in a person by keeping the individual's body, mind and spirit in perfect equilibrium with nature.

Swasthya Foundation is a charitable organization registered as a trust in 2013 in Mysore, Karnataka, India. Swasthya Foundation is aimed at treating the less fortunate children born with facial deformities like cleft lip and palate In addition to free surgery.

Swasthya Foundation also provides free stay, food and transportation to all needy patients who otherwise would never have been able to smile. That’s not all, efforts are taken to offer orthodontic care and speech therapy to reintegrate these children into mainstream society.

In a country where around 40,000 children are born with this horrible deformity which impairs their self-esteem and social activity, Swasthya Foundation is trying its bit by changing the lives of children and is committed to encourage and spread awareness of treatment available for facial deformity and to get rid of the stigma that is attached to it.

Concept: All the children in the world are creation of god and they represent him, but some are unfortunate to have cleft and craniofacial deformity – our initiative is to correct them , bringing them into mainstream social life, make them and their family happy and give them a new smile in turn a new life.

Vision

To reintegrate children born with cleft lip palate and other facial deformities into mainstream society.

Mission:

To establish state-of-the-art cleft centre to treat children born with cleft lip palate across the country. To train and impact surgical knowledge to surgeons and medical professionals support these unfortunate babies.

The society helps to establish the worldwide standards for the treatment of children with cleft lip and palate, like collaboration of pediatrician, ENT specialists, dentists and orthodontists, functional (speech) therapy - depending on local circumstances. Today the non-profit organisation is operational in India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cameroon, Rwanda, Peru, Bolivia, Afghanistan and (in individual cases) in China.



The Schweizer Hilfe für Spaltkinder (SHfS) is a non-profit, humanitarian society with the purpose to help children affected by cleft lip and palate malformation in developing countries. We make every effort to support cleft children with the best and most comprehensive treatment possible so that they are socially integrated, go to school and lead a normal, carefree life.


St. Joseph's Hospital is run by the Catholic Diocese of Mysore. St. Joseph’s is a 150 bed, service-oriented hospital that provides a wide range of health and health related services, with special focus on the poor and the underprivileged. Situated at Bannimantap, on the Mysore-Bangalore highway on a 33 acres of spacious land, the Hospital building is surrounded by greenery providing an echo-friendly look. The hospital building is planned in such a way that every room and corridor is blessed with natural light and cross ventilation to every part of the building.
